choose one of the following activities to complete:

1. In this story, you will learn about a bat named Stellaluna. Visit this bat diagram web site to see a diagram of a bat. Next, draw a picture of a bat.  Label as many parts as you can remember.  After you complete your bat picture, go to the puzzle page and work the puzzle of a bat.

2. In the story, a bat named Stellaluna is separated from her mother. Think about what would happen if you were separated from your parents or guardian.  How would you feel? What would you do?  Where would you go?  Write a short story in your journal telling about a time when you might have been separated from your mother or father.  Be sure to include how you would feel and what you would do.  Make sure your story has a beginning, middle, and end.
