Before you read
What do you notice about the title of this book?  The words "bull" and "frog" are separated.  Why do you think this is?  You know what a bull is and you know what a frog is, but when bull and frog are put together the meaning changes.  This is called a compound word.  Look at some compound words by clicking here.  Could you find the two smaller words within each compound word?  Now you try to make a few compound words.  Click here to start.
After you read
What did you notice about the words in the book?  As the bullfrog searches for his leap, he encounters many things.  The last word on each page gives you a hint of what he will run into, but the first word on the next page changes the meaning when the two words are put together.   Now you are going to try putting words together to make a compound word.  Look at the red word, then choose a blue word to make a compound word.  Click here to begin.
