2.   KWL chart
3.   pencil

Before Reading:

    1.   This book contains a lot of useful information on recycling.  Print out 
          and complete the KWL chart by listing the things that you know about 
          recycling.  You will also list the information that you would like to learn
          about recycling. 
    2.   Next, read the book "The Great Trash Bash" to gather new information 
          on recycling. 
    3.   Complete the KWL chart by filling in the information that you gathered
          from reading the book and visiting Recycle City. 
 


 
After Reading:

     1 After completing the book, The Great Trash Bash, go to Recycle City
         to see how this community recycles their garbage. 
    2.  While visiting the city, go to the bottom of the page and read the history
         of the city. 
    3.  Next click on any area in Recycle City to see a detailed description of
         how the citizens help keep their community clean. 
    4.  After navigating through Recycle City, go back to your KWL chart and
         complete the last column of the chart.
 


 
Beyond Reading:

    1.  Visit Recycle City and click on "Activities" located at the top.
    2.  Click on "Things To Do."
    3.  Write down each of the items to be reused that are listed in the second
         activity.
    4.  Continue navigating through Recycle City and complete additional
         activities on the "Things To Do In Recycle City" page.
