Materials Needed:
"Tacky in Trouble" by: Helen Lester                    3 zip-lock plastic bags
pencil or pen                                                             ice cubes
KWL Chart                                                               someone to help during activity
printer
 

Before Reading:
1.  Complete the K and L sections of the KWL chart.  Print it out and fill it in.
2.  Let's look at how penguins interact with each other in their environment.  Write three sentence on the back of the KWL chart about what you observed in the video.
3.  Learn some interesting fun facts about penguins.

After Reading:
1.  After reading "Tacky in Trouble" complete the L section of the KWL chart on what you learned about penguins.
2.  Learn how penguins survive in cold temperatures by doing this fun activity!
 

Fun Penguin Activities:
     Choose one or more of the following activities to do for fun to test how much you know about penguins.
1.  Do a word search.
2.  Put a puzzle together of penguins.
3.  Make a dot-to-dot picture of a penguins.
4.  Do you want to laugh?  Read some jokes that children made up.
