Before we read, we have to make a few predictions. What do you think this book is about? As you might have guessed, this book has something to do with rain. Just like you predicted the subject of the book, Meteorologists predict the weather, like the rain in our book! Now it's your turn to predict. Think about the title of the book, and the picture on the cover. Print out the prediction worksheet and answer the prediction questions about the story. Also, go look at your state on the radar and write down your predictions for the weather. Will it rain or not? How sure are you? After the story, fill out the result column on the worksheet to see if you are right.


   While you are reading, find out if your predictions are correct. Use your prediction worksheet and mark down what actually happens in the story, using the "result" column. Also, while reading follow along with the vocabulary sheet and make predictions about the meanings of the words on the sheet. Pick four other words you might have had trouble with and write them on the sheet with their predicted meanings. Finally, when you are done check your definitions with the online dictionary.


 
 

After you read it's time to go to the movies! You are gonna kick back, relax and find out why rain and thunderstorms occur with Tim and Moby. When you link to the site, make sure you click "Play Movie." It may not win an Emmy, but pay attention to the movie, because once you are done, take the quiz and test your knowledge about rain and thunderstorms.
 

Have you every played in the rain with your mother? Think about the things you and your mother have done together. Pick your favorite thing and type paragraph describing the activity and why you liked it one an e-card. Then, send her the card so she knows that you appreciate her. If you have done something with your father or other person that you really appreciated you can write them


Now that you have become a weather expert. Make your own weather station at home!Follow the directions to make all of the instruments and begin tracking the weather.
